A sweet escape to Saufiville Resort, Janda Baik
On last week Merdeka holiday, our cell group had went to an awesome place for outing. I wish to dedicate this write-up and all the credits to the house owner - Encik Saufi and the family. Is an honor of being their 1st customer, and I believe, this will not be our last time of going to da place.
What and where is Janda Baik?
After passing through the undertunnel of Genting Sempah, you will find the road sign of Janda Baik on your left. Follow the way and it will leads you to the mountain where it belongs. The mountain cliff is similar to Cameron Highland, whereby you will find it kinda slope. However, along the way you will find yourself have indulge into the old traditional malay kampung feel. A brief 20 minutes drive along the cliff, you will reach Saufiville Resort.
Saufiville Boutique Resort
Initially, the house is belong to a big family and they will come to spend their weekend occasionally over here. However, after the development of Janda Baik as the newest tourism spot, they have decided to open up the great spot and share with the public. As per the villagers in Janda Baik, Saufiville has the best view among the others.
Saufiville is a bungalow concept with 6 rooms. 2 rooms with attached bathroom and 4 rooms with sharing bathroom. The bungalow is approximately 5,000 sq.feet and is situated on 12 acres of land surrounded by fruit trees, vegetable plantation, fish ponds and also a goat farm. The swimming pool is private owned. That's mean you can own the swimming pool when you have rented the whole place down. Another best thing is, the water is flowing from the mountain water, which villagers called it Spring Water. The cold-ness of the water is just different from what you have in the town. It is indeed very refreshing and cooling while you dive into it.
Price
You may rent the Whole Bungalow for $1500(max occupancy is between 18 to 20 people) or you may rent individual rooms price ranging from$280 to $180 depending on the room. Complimentary breakfast is inclusive together with the accomodation. Besides that, they also serving Local Cuisine,Western and Steamboat. Barbeque can also be arranged. Anyway, tailor-made menu is upon request.
Facilities
Although this is a kampung place that you would hardly find a shopping complex or recreation centre in Janda Baik area, but spending your time just being in the Saufiville is just another experience of relaxation and rejuvenation. Allow me to name you a few where I believe is enough to impress you away:
- karaoke room: full set of karaoke system which they even provide the ready karaoke song, such as "My heart will go on".. (LOL...:P)
- fishing: for those who like fishing, or just enjoy seeing someone fishing, this activity will definitely please you off. Saufiville own 3 units of fish ponds that full of patin fish and Talapia. Mind you, the first night BBQ patin fish is freshly caught on that afternoon itself.
- ping pong
- swimming
- goat farm: they own a goad farm where you find over 50 over goats is over there. For me a city-girl, goat is something very rare in my life. And I found it so exciting when I saw 50 over ekors of goats watching you while you step into their home - "kandang".
- durian eating: they sell their home-grown durian of 1kg at RM3 only.
Trust the above info is sufficient enough. However, should you have any further enquiries, please email to saufiville@gmail.com. Encik Saufin, the owner of the house will be glad to assist you accordingly.
Last but not least, One thing that touched me very much is the hospitality that had given by the family. They maybe someone who is richer than many people, but they are incredible-ly humble than anyone else. I think, this is one of the reason that God bless the family so much.
What and where is Janda Baik?
Known for the legend of a kind hearted princess, Janda Baik is situated on the Main Range (otherwise known as Banjaran Titiwangsa) of Peninsular Malaysia. A 40 minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life of Kuala Lumpur, Janda Baik provides us with an alternative weekend, of fresh air and tropical greenery that swept our feet away at first sight.
Janda Baik (loosely translated as 'A Good Widow') indulged her visitors not only with her breathtaking beauty, but the blend of traditional Malay houses and modern architecture resorts gives visitors multiple diversed options. After passing through the undertunnel of Genting Sempah, you will find the road sign of Janda Baik on your left.
